This writing assignment is from one of our 7th grade students. It is one of the most powerful reflections that I have ever read on why history is important. It is also a gentle reminder of the insight that our young people have. And, yes, her teacher is responding to her call by infusing cultural relevance and truth to the instruction and learning.
